Dear Reader … Welcome To Moonshine.
Solitary and struggling, Jillian has lost all connection with the world around her. The only person who she accidentally connects with is you. Yes, you! Well, and her love-note writing mystery man. But I digress.
Jillian’s story, Meet Me in Moonshine, was only ever going to be a freequel to download, but I was encouraged (persuaded) to make the story into a physical book. To physically hold the product of my labours in my hands. To feel the weight of what I had done.
Not everyone can write an entire story (side note: I just completed NAPLAN testing with my Year 9 students and phew, let me tell you, writing is struggle city for teens), and even fewer people will turn that story into a book (about 3%, or so I once read). So I bowed to ‘peer pressure’ and I DID IT.
I did THE THING little nine-year-old me wanted to accomplish.
I published a book.
I published a book.
Shit, just writing that … I published a book.
I can’t believe it. Bucket list goal ticked! Now …
Have you ever caught ‘the travel bug’? Being an author is a bit like that. Once you start the journey, once you do it, you want to go again, keep moving, keep discovering.
Moonshine is a planned series, and I’m burning with the energy of writing, editing, formatting, covering these stories for both my own, and other people’s enjoyment. To leave a mark on the world, even a small literary one … I feel blessed. Honoured. Scared shitless.
So far, the feedback for Meet Me in Moonshine has been so overwhelmingly positive, encouraging, and uplifting. My book has been read by friends and strangers alike. At the time of writing this, over 150 copies have made it into reader’s hands, in four different countries. Like, WTF?!? My mind is just BLOWN.
I am beyond grateful to everyone who has visited Moonshine, followed Jillian’s journey, and mine. Hopefully, with a spot of luck, I’ll see you back in Moonshine, for Sam’s story in ‘The Write Way For Love.’
If you have read Meet Me in Moonshine, please leave a review.
Share the word. Let other’s know.
And thank you for being here with me.
